| 9 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 202, Property Code, is amended by adding |

| 11 | 16 | | Sec. 202.020. REGULATION OF FIREARMS OR FIREARMS |

| 12 | 17 | | AMMUNITION. A property owners' association may not include or |

| 13 | 18 | | enforce a provision in a dedicatory instrument that prohibits, |

| 14 | 19 | | restricts, or has the effect of prohibiting or restricting any |

| 15 | 20 | | person who is otherwise authorized from lawfully possessing, |

| 16 | 21 | | transporting, or storing a firearm, any part of a firearm, or |
|---|
| 17 | 22 | | firearm ammunition, as well as the otherwise lawful discharge of a |

| 19 | 24 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
