5	7		relating to the issuance of specialty plates to honor recipients of
6	8		the Distinguished Flying Cross medal with Valor.
7	9		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
8	10		SECTION 1. Section 504.308, Transportation Code, is amended
9	11		to read as follows:
10	12		Sec. 504.308. DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS MEDAL RECIPIENTS.
11	13		[(a)] The department shall issue specialty license plates for
12	14		persons who have received the Distinguished Flying Cross medal and
13	15		Distinguished Flying Cross medal with Valor. The license plates
14	16		must bear a depiction of the Distinguished Flying Cross medal and
15	17		the words "Distinguished Flying Cross" at the bottom of each
16	18		license plate. License plates issued under this section to
17	19		recipients of the Distinguished Flying Cross medal with Valor that
18	20		are not personalized must also include the letter "V" as a prefix or
19	21		suffix to the numerals on each plate.
20	22		SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
