| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. PILOT PROGRAM. The Parks and Wildlife | |
| 11 | 11 | Department shall establish a pilot program in which the department | |
| 12 | 12 | charges a nonresident the same fee as a resident of this state for a | |
| 13 | 13 | hunting or fishing license issued under Chapter 42 or 46, Parks and | |
| 14 | 14 | Wildlife Code. The department shall evaluate the effects of the | |
| 15 | 15 | pilot program on out-of-state tourism related to hunting and | |
| 16 | 16 | fishing. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. REPORT. The Parks and Wildlife Department shall | |
| 18 | 18 | prepare a report describing the results of the pilot program. The | |
| 19 | 19 | department shall submit the report to the legislature not later | |
| 20 | 20 | than January 1, 2019. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 3. EXPIRATION. This Act expires June 1, 2019. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect September | |
| 23 | 23 | 1, 2017. |
