| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is amended | |

| 12 | 12 | Sec. 1.08. ELIMINATION OF DISTINCTION BETWEEN BEER AND ALE. | |
| 13 | 13 | Notwithstanding any other law, the commission shall treat any | |
| 14 | 14 | product otherwise considered to be "ale" or "malt liquor" as "beer" | |
| 15 | 15 | for the purposes of licensing, permitting, manufacturing, | |
| 16 | 16 | transporting, storing, marketing, reporting, delivering, | |
| 17 | 17 | wholesaling, retailing, testing, labeling, and taxation. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
