68 directors of the West Travis County Municipal Utility District No.

810 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
911 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 8440, Special District
1012 Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 8440.052 to read as
1113 follows:
1214 Sec. 8440.052. ELECTION DATE. The district shall hold an
1315 election to elect the appropriate number of directors on the
1416 uniform election date prescribed by Section 41.001, Election Code,
1517 in November of each even-numbered year.
1618 SECTION 2. Section 8440.101, Special District Local Laws
1719 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1820 Sec. 8440.101. GENERAL [MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT] POWERS
1921 AND DUTIES. (a) The district has the rights, powers, privileges,
2022 functions, and duties:
2123 (1) provided by general law applicable to a municipal
2224 utility district created under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas
2325 Constitution, including Chapters 49, 50, and 54, Water Code;
2426 (2) relating to a road district or road utility
2527 district created under Section 52, Article III, Texas Constitution;
2628 and
2729 (3) relating to the provision of potable and
2830 nonpotable water to the residents and businesses of Travis and Hays
2931 Counties, including the construction, acquisition, operation, and
3032 maintenance of a supply and distribution facility or system[,
3133 applicable to a municipal utility district created under Section
3234 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution].
3335 (b) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), the district may not
3436 construct, acquire, operate, or maintain a toll road.
3537 SECTION 3. (a) The legal notice of the intention to
3638 introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this
3739 Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a
3840 copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,
3941 officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished
4042 under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313,
4143 Government Code.
4244 (b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has
4345 submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on
4446 Environmental Quality.
4547 (c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed
4648 its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the
4749 lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of
4850 representatives within the required time.
4951 (d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this
5052 state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect
5153 to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled
5254 and accomplished.
5355 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
5456 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
5557 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
5658 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
5759 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
