| 7 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 10 | | SECTION 1. The heading to Chapter 7913, Special District |

| 9 | 11 | | Local Laws Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 12 | | CHAPTER 7913. HIGHWAY 71 [BURNET COUNTY] MUNICIPAL UTILITY |
|---|
| 11 | 13 | | DISTRICT [NO. 1] |
|---|
| 12 | 14 | | SECTION 2. Section 7913.001(4), Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 13 | 15 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | (4) "District" means the Highway 71 [Burnet County] |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | Municipal Utility District [No. 1]. |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | SECTION 3. (a) The legislature validates and confirms the |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | creation of the Highway 71 Municipal Utility District and all acts |
|---|
| 18 | 20 | | and proceedings of the district under that name or as the Burnet |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | County Municipal Utility District No. 1 that were taken before the |
|---|
| 20 | 22 | | effective date of this Act, including all elections conducted by |
|---|
| 21 | 23 | | the district. |
|---|
| 22 | 24 | | (b) Subsection (a) of this section does not apply to any |
|---|
| 23 | 25 | | matter that on the effective date of this Act: |
|---|
| 24 | 26 | | (1) is involved in litigation if the litigation |
|---|
| 25 | 27 | | ultimately results in the matter being held invalid by a final |
|---|
| 26 | 28 | | judgment of a court; or |
|---|
| 27 | 29 | | (2) has been held invalid by a final judgment of a |
|---|
| 28 | 30 | | court. |
|---|
| 29 | 31 | | SECTION 4. A reference in law to the Burnet County Municipal |
|---|
| 30 | 32 | | Utility District No. 1 means the Highway 71 Municipal Utility |
|---|
| 31 | 33 | | District. |
|---|
| 32 | 34 | | SECTION 5. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 33 | 35 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 34 | 36 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 35 | 37 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 36 | 38 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
