9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 531, Government Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 531.0058 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 531.0058. ASSOCIATE COMMISSIONER FOR VETERANS | |
13 | 13 | SERVICES. The executive commissioner shall appoint for the | |
14 | 14 | commission an associate commissioner for veterans services to: | |
15 | 15 | (1) review programs and benefits available for | |
16 | 16 | veterans; | |
17 | 17 | (2) make recommendations on the improvement and | |
18 | 18 | coordination of veterans services; and | |
19 | 19 | (3) coordinate with other state agencies to enhance | |
20 | 20 | veterans services. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
