99 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1010 AN ACT
1111 relating to the repeal of certain laws regulating the sale or
1212 transfer of secondhand watches.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 17, Business & Commerce
1515 Code, is repealed.
1616 SECTION 2. An offense under Section 17.22, Business &
1717 Commerce Code, may not be prosecuted after the effective date of
1818 this Act. If on the effective date of this Act a criminal action is
1919 pending for an offense under Section 17.22, Business & Commerce
2020 Code, the action is dismissed on that date. However, a final
2121 conviction for an offense under Section 17.22, Business & Commerce
2222 Code, that exists on the effective date of this Act is unaffected by
2323 this Act.
2424 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2525 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2626 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2727 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2828 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
