| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 552.104, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (c) The exception under this section does not apply to | |
| 14 | 14 | information contained in a bid or proposal after the governmental | |
| 15 | 15 | body executes or awards the contract to which the bid or proposal | |
| 16 | 16 | relates. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to | |
| 18 | 18 | a request for information received by a governmental body or an | |
| 19 | 19 | officer for public information on or after the effective date of | |
| 20 | 20 | this Act. A request for information received before the effective | |
| 21 | 21 | date of this Act is governed by the law in effect when the request | |
| 22 | 22 | was received, and the former law is continued in effect for that | |
| 23 | 23 | purpose. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
