| 10 | 8 | SECTION 1. Section 504.317, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 11 | 9 | by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 10 | (b-1) A person is eligible to receive specialty license | |
| 13 | 11 | plates under this section if the person is the surviving spouse of a | |
| 14 | 12 | person who had been entitled to specialty plates for veterans with | |
| 15 | 13 | disabilities under Section 504.202, regardless of whether the | |
| 16 | 14 | deceased spouse was issued plates under that section. | |
| 17 | 15 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | |
