                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 28, 2017      TO: Honorable Kelly Hancock, Chair, Senate Committee on Business & Commerce      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB564 by Campbell (Relating to the applicability of open meetings requirements to certain meetings of a governing body relating to information technology security practices.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to exempt a governmental body, as defined in Chapter 551, from open meeting requirements when deliberating certain security-related topics. The bill would also specify that certain network security information of a governmental entity is confidential.  It is assumed that any costs to implement the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within existing resources.
