| 8 | 8 | | security personnel or commissioned peace officers employed by each |

| 9 | 9 | | school district and assigned to each district campus. |

| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 37.081, Education Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | adding Subsection (i) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (i) Each school district shall report through the Public |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Education Information Management System (PEIMS) the number of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | security personnel and commissioned peace officers employed by the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | district and the number of security personnel and commissioned |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | peace officers assigned to each district campus. Each district |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | shall update the report as necessary to reflect any increase or |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | decrease in those numbers. The agency shall make the information |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | reported for each district under this subsection available on the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | agency's Internet website and update the information as necessary |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to accurately reflect the number of security personnel and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | commissioned peace officers employed by each district and assigned |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | to district campuses. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. The board of trustees of each school district |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | shall report the information required by Section 37.081(i), |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Education Code, as added by this Act, as soon as practicable after |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | the effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
