77 relating to a requirement that the Texas Commission on
88 Environmental Quality obtain or develop updated water availability
99 models for certain river basins.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 16.012, Water Code, is amended by adding
1212 Subsection (h-1) to read as follows:
1313 (h-1) Not later than December 1, 2020, the commission shall
1414 obtain or develop updated water availability models for the Brazos,
1515 Guadalupe, San Antonio, Sulphur, and Rio Grande River basins. The
1616 commission may collect data from all jurisdictions that allocate
1717 the waters of the rivers, including jurisdictions outside this
1818 state. This subsection expires September 1, 2021.
1919 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect only if a specific
2020 appropriation for the implementation of the Act is provided in a
2121 general appropriations act of the 85th Legislature.
2222 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
