77 relating to the applicability of the electronic filing requirement
88 for personal financial statements to certain appointed officers.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 572.0291, Government Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 Sec. 572.0291. ELECTRONIC FILING REQUIRED. (a) A
1313 financial statement filed with the commission must be filed by
1414 computer diskette, modem, or other means of electronic transfer,
1515 using computer software provided by the commission or computer
1616 software that meets commission specifications for a standard file
1717 format.
1818 (b) Subsection (a) does not apply to an appointed officer
1919 appointed by the governor.
2020 SECTION 2. The change in law to Section 572.0291,
2121 Government Code, made by this Act applies to a financial statement
2222 under Chapter 572, Government Code, that is filed on or after the
2323 effective date of this Act, without regard to the date of the
2424 deadline for filing the report.
2525 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2626 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2727 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2828 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2929 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
