| 10 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 436.105, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 12 | 10 | | adding Subsection (c-1) and amending Subsection (d) to read as |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | (c-1) Any information written, produced, collected, |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | assembled, or maintained by or for the task force is confidential |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | and exempt from disclosure under Chapter 552 only during the task |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | force's existence. |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | (d) The task force is abolished and this section expires |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | September 1, 2021 [2019]. |

| 20 | 18 | | SECTION 2. Subchapter C, Chapter 436, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 21 | 19 | | amended by adding Section 436.1051 to read as follows: |

| 22 | 20 | | Sec. 436.1051. MILITARY BASE REALIGNMENT AND CLOSURE TASK |
|---|
| 23 | 21 | | FORCE; PRESERVATION OF INFORMATION. (a) On the abolishment of the |
|---|
| 24 | 22 | | military base realignment and closure task force, the task force |
|---|
| 25 | 23 | | shall transfer all information written, produced, collected, |
|---|
| 26 | 24 | | assembled, or maintained by or for the task force to the commission |
|---|
| 27 | 25 | | and the commission shall maintain the information. |
|---|
| 28 | 26 | | (b) Any information transferred to the commission under |
|---|
| 29 | 27 | | Subsection (a) is public information subject to disclosure under |
|---|
| 30 | 28 | | Chapter 552. |
|---|
| 31 | 29 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
