| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 71.155, Business & Commerce Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (a-1) to | |
| 13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (a) Except as provided by Subsection (a-1), the [The] county | |
| 15 | 15 | clerk shall collect a fee of: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) $2 for filing each certificate or statement | |
| 17 | 17 | required or permitted to be filed under this chapter; and | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) 50 cents for each name to be indexed. | |
| 19 | 19 | (a-1) The county clerk may waive all fees under Subsection | |
| 20 | 20 | (a) for a registrant who is a military veteran. In this subsection, | |
| 21 | 21 | "military veteran" has the meaning assigned by Section 55.001, | |
| 22 | 22 | Occupations Code. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
