| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 156.101, Family Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (c) Notwithstanding Subsection (a) or any other provision | |
| 13 | 13 | of this subchapter, in a suit filed under this subchapter seeking to | |
| 14 | 14 | modify an order that provides for the appointment of a conservator | |
| 15 | 15 | of a child, Section 153.131 applies. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 17 | 17 | to a suit to modify an order establishing a child's conservatorship | |
| 18 | 18 | pending in a trial court on or filed on or after the effective date | |
| 19 | 19 | of this Act. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
