64 AN ACT
75 relating to a groundwater conservation district's use of electronic
86 fund transfers.
97 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
108 SECTION 1. Sections 36.151(b) and (c), Water Code, are
119 amended to read as follows:
1210 (b) Disbursements, other than federal reserve wire
1311 transfers or electronic fund transfers, shall be signed by at least
1412 two directors, except the board may by resolution allow certain
1513 employees of the district, or a combination of employees and
1614 directors, to sign disbursements on behalf of the board. The board
1715 may authorize payroll disbursements by electronic direct deposit.
1816 (c) The board may by resolution allow disbursements to be
1917 transferred by federal reserve wire system, or by electronic means,
2018 to accounts in the name of the district or accounts not in the name
2119 of the district.
2220 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2321 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2422 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2523 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2624 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
