| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 2.009, Family Code, is amended by adding |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (e) A license issued by a county clerk under this section |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | must identify the county in which the license is issued but may not |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | specify the name of the county clerk. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | SECTION 2. Section 194.0011(a), Health and Safety Code, is |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (a) The executive commissioner by rule shall prescribe the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | format and content of the department form used for the marriage |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | license application. The form: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (1) may not require that the name of the county clerk |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | appear on the application; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (2) must require identification of the county in which |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the application is submitted. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect January 1, 2018. |
