| 10 | 8 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 162, Family Code, is | |
| 11 | 9 | amended by adding Section 162.0086 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 10 | Sec. 162.0086. INFORMATION REGARDING SIBLING ACCESS. | |
| 13 | 11 | (a) The Department of Family and Protective Services shall provide | |
| 14 | 12 | information to each person seeking to adopt a child placed for | |
| 15 | 13 | adoption by the department regarding the right of a child's sibling | |
| 16 | 14 | to file a suit for access to the child under Sections 102.0045 and | |
| 17 | 15 | 153.551. | |
| 18 | 16 | (b) The department may provide the information required | |
| 19 | 17 | under Subsection (a) on any form or application provided to | |
| 20 | 18 | prospective adoptive parents. | |
| 21 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | |
