| 11 | 11 | | Law No. 2 of Dallas County. |

| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 25.0591(a), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (a) Dallas County has the following county courts at law: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (1) County Court of Dallas County at Law No. 1; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (2) County Court of Dallas County at Law No. 2[; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | [(3) County Court of Dallas County at Law Number 3; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | [(4) County Court of Dallas County at Law Number 4; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | [(5) County Court of Dallas County at Law No. 5]. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. On the date the County Court at Law No. 3 of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Dallas County, County Court at Law No. 4 of Dallas County, and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | County Court at Law No. 5 of Dallas County are abolished, all cases |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | pending in those courts are transferred to the County Court at Law |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | No. 1 of Dallas County or County Court at Law No. 2 of Dallas County |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | as determined by the judges of County Court at Law No. 1 of Dallas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | County and County Court at Law No. 2 of Dallas County. When a case |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | is transferred from one court to another as provided by this |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | section, all processes, writs, bonds, recognizances, or other |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | obligations issued from the transferring court are returnable to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | the court to which the case is transferred as if originally issued |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | by that court. The obligees in all bonds and recognizances taken in |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | and for a court from which a case is transferred and all witnesses |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | summoned to appear in a court from which a case is transferred are |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | required to appear before the court to which a case is transferred |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | as if originally required to appear before the court to which the |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | transfer is made. |

| 38 | 38 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect December 31, 2018. |
