44 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, It is incumbent on elected officials at all levels
66 of government to work together in order to advance the will of the
77 people and help create a more prosperous future for our country; and
88 WHEREAS, When the President of the United States threatens
99 any member of the Texas Senate, it must be considered a threat to
1010 all Texas Senators, as well as a threat to the civility and decorum
1111 that are essential to a functioning democracy; moreover, the
1212 president and the members of the executive branch of the federal
1313 government should not focus on intimidating elected officials and
1414 should instead focus on creating common sense legislation and
1515 policies for the betterment of our country; now, therefore, be it
1616 RESOLVED, That the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas
1717 hereby encourage the President of the United States to refrain from
1818 threatening elected officials.
