| 6 | 6 | | memories of Evelyn Loyd Hooton, who passed away on August 3, |

| 7 | 7 | | 2016, at the age of 66; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The former Evelyn Loyd was born on October 4, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1949, in Grand Saline to Cecil and Mary Polacek Loyd, and she grew |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | up with the companionship of three siblings; she attended East |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Texas State University, where she was a member of Chi Omega |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sorority and Alpha Lambda Iota; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, In 1971, she was joined in marriage to James Byron |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Hooton, and the couple became the proud parents of three sons, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Joey, Mark, and Steve; later in life, Mrs. Hooton delighted in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the time she spent with her five grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Living in Alba for most of her life, this admired |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | educator taught elementary school for the Alba-Golden and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Mineola Independent School Districts; in her private life, she |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | took pleasure in reading, tending her garden, and line dancing |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | with the Lone Star Steppers; moreover, she was a valued member of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | First Baptist Church, Mineola; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, A devoted wife and a loving mother and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | grandmother, Evelyn Hooton brightened the lives of all who knew |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | her with her cheerful disposition and her joie de vivre; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Evelyn Loyd |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Hooton and extend sincere condolences to the members of her |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | family: to her husband, Jim Hooton; to her sons, Joey Hooton and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | his wife, Lori, Mark Hooton and his wife, Krissy, and Steve |

| 32 | 32 | | Hooton and his wife, Abby; to her brother, James Loyd; to her |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | sister, Barbara Dawson; to her grandchildren, Thomas, Allie, |
