1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 117
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize Gerdau's Beaumont Steel Mill on the occasion of the
4	4	plant's 40th anniversary; and
5	5	WHEREAS, The Beaumont Steel Mill was founded by Georgetown
6	6	Steel in 1976; the steel mill produced rebar coil and wire rod for
7	7	use in the construction of roads, bridges, and buildings across
8	8	the state; and
9	9	WHEREAS, The Beaumont Steel Mill was acquired by Gerdau in
10	10	2004; during the ensuing years, Gerdau has become a leader in
11	11	steel production in Texas and one of the largest suppliers of
12	12	steel in the world; and
13	13	WHEREAS, Throughout its history, Gerdau's Beaumont Steel
14	14	Mill has been led by loyal and dedicated employees; deserving of
15	15	special recognition are Charles Hanson, Kirk Weatherly, Harold
16	16	Bell, Ronald Wilson, Ronda Whitten, Terry Benoit, Thad
17	17	Boudreaux, Greg Kelly, Willis Francis, Gerald Meulemans, Oscar
18	18	Iglesias, Freddie Andrews, Jerald Cribb, David Dixon, William
19	19	Payne, Lynn Spittler, Cathy Morton, Don Brockman, James Woodard,
20	20	Phillip Everett, Jeffery Vines, Clarence Finch, Jack Huffman,
21	21	James Sisk, David Gilchriest, Calvin Moss, Randy Mott, Keith
22	22	McCauley, John Moran, William Hone, Steven Anderson, David
23	23	Wilson, Gary Freeman, Daniel Brockman, and Marion Tallarita;
24	24	now, therefore, be it
25	25	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
26	26	Legislature, hereby commend the managers and employees of
27	27	Gerdau's Beaumont Steel Mill on their many contributions to the
28	28	Beaumont community and extend to them best wishes for a memorable
29	29	40th anniversary; and, be it further
30	30	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
31	31	the company as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
