11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 144
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize Johnny Anderson for his 31 years of exceptional service
44 with Plains Cotton Growers, Incorporated, and for his many
55 contributions to the Texas cotton industry; and
66 WHEREAS, The Texas High Plains region is one of the largest
77 cotton-producing regions in the world, and the sale of cotton
88 brings more than $2.2 billion annually to the state's economy; and
99 WHEREAS, Since 1956, Plains Cotton Growers, Incorporated,
1010 has provided premier service and support to cotton producers in
1111 the High Plains region on matters including research, market
1212 development, and public policy at both the state and federal
1313 levels; and
1414 WHEREAS, Throughout his 31 years of service, Johnny
1515 Anderson has been a diligent advocate for Plains Cotton Growers,
1616 Incorporated, and for the many cotton producers and ginners the
1717 corporation represents; his unprecedented efforts reflect his
1818 tireless dedication to the Texas cotton industry and to the
1919 farmers of the High Plains, and his presence at the organization
2020 will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
2121 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
2222 Legislature, hereby commend Johnny Anderson on his exemplary
2323 career representing the cotton farmers of the Texas High Plains
2424 and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be
2525 it further
2626 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
2727 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
