| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize F. B. "Lico" Reyes for his outstanding career as an |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | advocate for civil rights and labor rights; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A distinguished member of his community, Lico |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Reyes has worked diligently throughout his career to support |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | minorities and laborers of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, He has served as a Spanish language interpreter |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | for United States district courts, Texas courts, and numerous |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | state agencies and health care organizations; in 2003, he was |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | appointed by Senator Royce West to serve as a member of the Texas |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | District 23 Criminal Justice Advisory Committee; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, From 2012 to 2016, Mr. Reyes served as an |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | immigration chair for the Texas Council of the League of United |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Latin American Citizens, and for 20 years, he served as a civil |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | rights investigator for the organization; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Lico Reyes has advocated on behalf of Texas |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | workers as a representative of both the United Steelworkers Local |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 9479 and the Arlington division of the Texas Public Employees |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Association; he has worked tirelessly for the betterment of his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | community and the state, and he has been honored on numerous |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | occasions for his exemplary work on behalf of Texas citizens; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend F. B. "Lico" Reyes for his |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | outstanding work on behalf of Texas workers and minority citizens |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and, be it further |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
