| 4 | 4 | | at the State Capitol on February 14, 2017; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association |

| 6 | 6 | | was created in 1974 from the already existing Texas Ready Mixed |

| 7 | 7 | | Concrete Association and the Texas Aggregates Association; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Today, more than 40 years later, the Texas |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Aggregates and Concrete Association has over 200 member |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | companies throughout the state; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | represents 75 percent of the owners of concrete businesses in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Texas, 100 percent of the owners of cement businesses in Texas, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and 80 percent of the owners of aggregates businesses in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Texas; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Aggregates, concrete, cement, and related industries |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | account for nearly $5 billion of the state's economy and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | thousands of jobs throughout the state; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | advocates for sustainable funding levels for state infrastructure |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | sectors that positively affect economic development and job |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | creation in addition to furthering the business aims of these |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | vital industries; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby welcome the Texas Aggregates and Concrete |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Association to the State Capitol and extend to the visiting |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | delegation sincere best wishes for a meaningful and productive |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | day at the Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
