| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The team won the school's first state title in |

| 7 | 7 | | football after having been ranked in the top three throughout the |

| 8 | 8 | | 2016 season; team members can take great pride in their |

| 9 | 9 | | outstanding performance; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of head coach Todd Peterman |

| 11 | 11 | | and his outstanding staff, these student-athletes developed |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | exceptional teamwork and discipline; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, DeSoto High School and the people of DeSoto are |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | proud of the team's members for their hard work, their impressive |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it |

| 16 | 16 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Legislature, hereby commend the DeSoto High School football team |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | on its outstanding season and extend congratulations to team |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | members on winning the 2016 Class 6A Division II state |
|---|
