| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Payton McKenna Kennington, a 2016 graduate of |

| 3 | 3 | | Pittsburg High School, maintained a perfect attendance record |

| 4 | 4 | | throughout 13 years of public education; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Shawn and Amy Kennington, Payton |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Kennington decided early in her academic career that she would |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | make every effort never to miss a day of school, and she succeeded |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | admirably in this regard; she also set herself high goals for |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | scholastic achievement, and she maintained a 3.6 grade point |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | average; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, This well-rounded student held leadership roles |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | in the National Honor Society, and she was also involved in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | student government, serving as president of the student council |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and as class president; in addition, she was head majorette, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | she worked on numerous community projects as well; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Payton Kennington has demonstrated exceptional |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | dedication to her studies, and as she embarks on a future bright |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | with promise, she may indeed take pride in her accomplishments; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Payton McKenna Kennington on |

| 22 | 22 | | graduating from Pittsburg High School with a perfect attendance |

| 23 | 23 | | record and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
