| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been |

| 3 | 3 | | enhanced by a great and enduring love, Doyle and Judy Hughes of |

| 4 | 4 | | Lake Holbrook celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on |

| 5 | 5 | | July 6, 2016; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes were united in matrimony at a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | ceremony held in Irving in 1966; over the years, their family has |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | grown to include their four sons, Rudy, Scotty, Chad, and Quincy, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | as well as their six grandchildren and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | seven great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Hughes |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | retired from both the LTV Corporation and Lockheed Martin, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Mrs. Hughes worked for Abbott Laboratories in Irving; in their |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | leisure time, they enjoy fishing and working in their yard; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | half century, this devoted husband and wife have remained |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | constant in their commitment to each other, and the strength of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Doyle and Judy Hughes on their |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
