| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable Timothy Boswell retired as judge of |

| 3 | 3 | | the 402nd District Court on December 31, 2016, drawing to a close |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | 17 years of exemplary service on the bench; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Born in Mineola in 1942, Judge Boswell received |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | his bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | his master's degree and Ph.D. in American diplomatic history from |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Texas Christian University; he earned his law degree from Baylor |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | University Law School; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Judge Boswell was appointed to the newly created |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 402nd District Court in 1999 by Governor George W. Bush, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | throughout his tenure, his conscientious approach to the law has |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | won him the respect and admiration of his peers and the attorneys |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | who have appeared before him; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, This distinguished jurist has earned the Certificate |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of Special Competence from the Texas College for Judicial |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Studies, and he has served as Region One representative for the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Texas Association of District Judges; before his appointment to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the bench, he enjoyed a successful career as an attorney in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | private practice in Wood County, and he taught for a time at Paul |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Quinn College, when that school was in Waco; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Judge Boswell has enjoyed |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the love and support of his wife, Celia, as well as that of his three |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | children; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Tim Boswell's commitment to the highest ideals of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | public service has greatly benefited the people of Wood County, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the Honorable Timothy Boswell |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | on his retirement as judge of the 402nd District Court and extend |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 35 | 35 | | Judge Boswell as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
