SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 254 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize The Woodlands Family YMCA at Shadowbend on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and WHEREAS, The Woodlands Family YMCA at Shadowbend opened its doors on September 21, 1986; through the years, this outstanding organization has worked diligently to fulfill its mission of putting Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirits, minds, and bodies for area citizens; and WHEREAS, The YMCA is a powerful association of men, women, and children of all ages and from all walks of life who are joined together by a shared passion to strengthen the foundations of their communities; and WHEREAS, YMCA branches across the country are committed to providing people with access to sources of support and opportunities that empower them to learn, grow, and thrive; with a focus on social responsibility, healthy living, and youth development, the YMCA plays a vital role in building healthy, confident, secure, and stable children, families, and communities; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend The Woodlands Family YMCA at Shadowbend on 30 years of exceptional service to the community and extend to its staff and members best wishes for a memorable 30th anniversary celebration; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this exemplary organization as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
