| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Woodlands Family YMCA at Shadowbend opened its |

| 6 | 6 | | doors on September 21, 1986; through the years, this outstanding |

| 7 | 7 | | organization has worked diligently to fulfill its mission of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | putting Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | that build healthy spirits, minds, and bodies for area |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | citizens; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The YMCA is a powerful association of men, women, |

| 12 | 12 | | and children of all ages and from all walks of life who are joined |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | together by a shared passion to strengthen the foundations of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | their communities; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, YMCA branches across the country are committed to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | providing people with access to sources of support and opportunities |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | that empower them to learn, grow, and thrive; with a focus on social |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | responsibility, healthy living, and youth development, the YMCA |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | plays a vital role in building healthy, confident, secure, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | stable children, families, and communities; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend The Woodlands Family YMCA at |

| 23 | 23 | | Shadowbend on 30 years of exceptional service to the community |

| 24 | 24 | | and extend to its staff and members best wishes for a memorable |

| 25 | 25 | | 30th anniversary celebration; and, be it further |
