| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Dr. Charles Smith, who is retiring from the Behavioral |

| 4 | 4 | | Health Center of Nueces County after more than 25 years of |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | exceptional service with the organization; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Charles Smith grew up in New York City and earned |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | a bachelor's degree in psychology from Queens College, a master's |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | degree in psychology from Rutgers University, and a doctoral |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | degree in psychology from the California School of Professional |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Psychology; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Smith's career with the behavioral health |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | center began in 1991; over the years, he has worked as a unit |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | supervisor, an intake worker, and a utilization manager, and he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | is retiring from his position as the clinical supervisor; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary medical professional, Dr. Smith has |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | worked diligently to provide relief to patients who are suffering |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and to help them achieve their goals for personal growth and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | happiness; he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | presence at the health center will be greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Charles Smith for his exemplary |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | career at the Behavioral Health Center of Nueces County and for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | his outstanding work on behalf of vulnerable citizens and extend |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 27 | 27 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
