SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 285
WHEREAS, On July 12, 2016, at 11:33 a.m., the prayers of Jason and Erika
Hassay, as well as those of their family and friends, were answered with the birth
of a healthy baby boy, Harrison Michael Hassay; and
WHEREAS, Born 70 years to the day after his maternal grandfather, Michael
Pierson, this handsome bundle of joy weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and measured
20-1/2 inches in length when he made his long-awaited debut in Austin; and
WHEREAS, Harrison's birth has brought great happiness not only to his
parents, his older brother, Hudson, and his grandparents, Andrew and Nancy Hassay
and Michael and Debbie Pierson, but also to his aunts and uncles, Jeff Hassay and
Sarah Lehrer-Graiver, Chris and Lindsey Pierson, Jessica and Buddy Bishop, and
James Hassay, and his cousins, Hays, Drew, Reid, Joshua, Anthony, and Rosie; and
WHEREAS, Harrison's parents firmly believe that "children are a gift of
the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward" (Psalm 127:3), and his godparents Paul
and Jen Kirsch extend to him the prayer of Numbers 6:24-26: "The Lord bless you
and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the
Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace"; and
WHEREAS, As Philippians 1:6 says, "And I am certain that God, who began the
good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished";
moreover, Harrison's parents turn to the words of 2 Peter 1:2 to pray for the
newest addition to their family: "God give you more and more grace and peace as
you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord"; and
WHEREAS, Harrison Michael Hassay has already won the hearts of all who have
met him, and it is truly a pleasure to welcome this fine young Texan as a new
citizen of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby
congratulate Jason and Erika Hassay on the birth of their son and extend to
Harrison Michael Hassay warmest best wishes for a bright and promising future;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the family as an
expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
