| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable Tim Boswell of Mineola retired as |

| 3 | 3 | | judge of the 402nd State District Court in Wood County on |

| 4 | 4 | | December 31, 2016, concluding an exemplary tenure in office that |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | spanned 17 years; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The court's sole jurist, Judge Boswell was |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | appointed by Governor George W. Bush on September 1, 1999, the date |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | of the court's inception; he distinguished himself through his |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | knowledge, dedication, and thoroughness, and he was awarded the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Certificate of Special Competence in the field of general |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | jurisprudence by the Texas College for Judicial Studies; he |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | further benefitted his profession through his service as Region |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | One representative for the Texas District Judges Association; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Tim Boswell was born in Mineola in 1942; after |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, he completed |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | both a master's degree and a doctorate at Texas Christian |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | University; he went on to attend Baylor University Law School and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | subsequently entered private practice in Wood County and taught |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | at Paul Quinn College; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Judge Boswell has been |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | supported by the love and encouragement of his wife, Celia; his |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | retirement will allow him to spend more time with his children |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and grandchildren, as well as to enhance his already considerable |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | culinary skills; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Tim Boswell's career as a jurist was characterized |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | by diligence, integrity, and a passion for the law, and as he |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life, he may indeed |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | reflect with pride on his contributions to the Lone Star State; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the Honorable Tim Boswell on his |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | retirement as judge of the 402nd State District Court and extend to |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 35 | 35 | | Judge Boswell as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
