| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Trinity Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, on the |

| 4 | 4 | | occasion of its 10th Annual Diamonds and Sneakers Gala, which is |

| 5 | 5 | | being held March 4, 2017; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The proceeds from this yearly event benefit the |

| 7 | 7 | | chapter's So SMAART outreach program and its Scholarships for |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Excellence awards; So SMAART stands for Students Set on Science, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Math, the Arts, Aviation, Reading, and Technology; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding mentoring program nurtures the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | dreams of young women in the fourth through eighth grades as they |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | aspire to build their future careers in those important fields; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | since its inception in 2000, the program has won numerous awards |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and has had a profound impact on the lives of countless young |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | girls; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The Trinity Chapter has helped innumerable girls |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and young women achieve their dreams, and it is truly fitting |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | that this chapter receive special recognition; now, therefore, |

| 19 | 19 | | be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Trinity Chapter of The Links, |

| 22 | 22 | | Incorporated, on its commitment to service and extend to its |

| 23 | 23 | | members best wishes for a productive and successful 10th Annual |
