| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Frutoso M. Gomez Jr., who is retiring as chief appraiser |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | for the Cameron Appraisal District after 35 years of exemplary |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | service with the organization; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Frutoso Gomez joined the Cameron Appraisal |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | District in 1982; he has served the organization as a director of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | real estate and as an area manager, and he is retiring after 14 |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | years of service as chief appraiser for the district; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gomez was born to the late Frutoso and Odilia |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Gomez, and he grew up in Los Indios, Texas, with his nine |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | siblings; they were a family of migrant workers who traveled to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Ohio each spring and summer to work in the fields; he and his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | wife, Isabel, have been blessed with five children and numerous |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gomez attended Texas Southmost College in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Brownsville; he became accredited as a registered professional |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | appraiser in 1985, a certified tax administrator in 1992, and a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | certified chief appraiser in 2004; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A distinguished member of his community, Mr. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Gomez has been active in numerous state and local professional |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | organizations, and he volunteers his time to several charitable |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and civic groups; he is respected and admired by his colleagues, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and his presence at the Cameron Appraisal District will be |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Frutoso M. Gomez Jr. on his exemplary |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | career and his many contributions to the community and extend |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
