SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 359 In Memory of Yolanda JoAn Davis WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Yolanda JoAn Davis of Plano, who passed away on February 10, 2017, at the age of 71; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Rudy and Wilma Duffie Mallonee, the former JoAn Mallonee was born on March 7, 1945, in Yuba City, California; she moved to Alaska with her family six years later and attended West Anchorage High School, where she received her diploma in June 1963; and WHEREAS, That same month, she exchanged the vows of matrimony with Larry Davis at a ceremony in Anchorage; during the course of a rewarding marriage that spanned more than half a century, they became the proud parents of three sons, Larry, Collin, and Jared, and two daughters, Christie and Holly, and as the years passed, the couple had the pleasure of seeing their family grow to include 27 grandchildren and a great-grandson, with whom they enjoyed spending many special occasions; and WHEREAS, Sustained from a young age by a profound faith, Mrs. Davis was a valued congregant of Bull Creek Cowboy Church in Lone Oak, Texas; her life was further enriched by her artistic endeavors and her involvement with the Greenville Art League; and WHEREAS, JoAn Davis touched countless lives with her quiet and caring spirit, and she will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Yolanda JoAn Davis and extend sincere condolences to her family and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of JoAn Davis.
