| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Captain Tim Weaver, who retired from the Lewisville |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Fire Department on December 31, 2016, after 31 years of |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | outstanding service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Tim Weaver joined the department on October 2, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 1985, and he served in numerous roles before being promoted to |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | captain; in addition to his service for the City of Lewisville as |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | a firefighter, he has served the city as an emergency medical |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | technician and a paramedic; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Weaver was a member of the original volunteer |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | dive team, and at the fire department, he volunteered his time to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | assist with remodeling projects at several stations; he was |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | deeply committed to helping his colleagues and was always ready |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | to lend a hand when one of them fell sick or was injured; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Tim Weaver is a beloved member of the Lewisville |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | community; he serves as a deacon and choir member at First |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Baptist Church of Lewisville, and he is a member of Oasis, a group |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of volunteers who spend time with Alzheimer's patients once a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | week to provide respite for their caregivers; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career with the Lewisville Fire |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Department, Mr. Weaver exemplified the highest ideals of public |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | service, and as captain, he set new standards of excellence for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | future leaders to follow; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend Captain Tim Weaver for his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | exceptional contributions to the Lewisville community and extend |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
