| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Olmito Water Supply Corporation, which is celebrating |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | 50 years of service to the community; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Olmito Water Supply Corporation was established |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | as a nonprofit organization in March of 1967; for five decades, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the company has provided quality water and sanitary sewer service |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | to the residents of Olmito, a rural community in Cameron |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | County; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Olmito Water Supply Corporation has grown |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | considerably since its establishment; in its early years, the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | facility serviced around 100 water connections, and today it |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | manages more than 2,100 water connections and approximately |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1,600 sewer connections that serve more than 8,000 customers; in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 2011, the water treatment plant's capacity was expanded to treat |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | two million gallons of water each day; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The success of Olmito Water Supply Corporation |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | has been made possible by a group of exemplary community leaders |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and with the support of local, state, and national governments; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the company has improved the quality of life for thousands of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | rural Texans, and its 50th anniversary is indeed cause for |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | celebration; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend all associated with Olmito Water |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Supply Corporation for their service to the residents of Olmito |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and extend to them congratulations on the corporation's 50th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | anniversary; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | the company as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
