SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 410
WHEREAS, February 13, 2017, will be a day long cherished
and remembered by Caroline Morgan and Marshall Maher, for on that
day, their daughter Penelope Zara Morgan-Maher was born; and
WHEREAS, Marshall Maher is an Austin native who served the
Texas Legislature during three legislative sessions; he met
Caroline Morgan, a native of Ireland who was raised in Australia,
when she visited Austin in 2009 for Christmas; the couple fell
deeply in love over the course of a long-distance relationship,
and they were married in 2012 in New York City; and
WHEREAS, Their beautiful baby girl was born on
February 13, 2017, at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick,
Australia; she arrived at 11:05 a.m. and weighed seven pounds and
three ounces; and
WHEREAS, Penelope's safe arrival fulfilled her parents'
dearest wish, and they are joyful over the birth of their
daughter; and
WHEREAS, This blessed event has brought great happiness to
Penelope's family, and she has been heartily welcomed into the
Morgan-Maher household; it is indeed appropriate that the Texas
Senate welcome this precious newborn into the world; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Caroline Morgan
and Marshall Maher on the birth of their daughter Penelope Zara
Morgan-Maher and extend to them best wishes for the future; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the Morgan-Maher family as a memento of this special day.
