| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, February 13, 2017, will be a day long cherished |

| 3 | 3 | | and remembered by Caroline Morgan and Marshall Maher, for on that |

| 4 | 4 | | day, their daughter Penelope Zara Morgan-Maher was born; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Marshall Maher is an Austin native who served the |

| 6 | 6 | | Texas Legislature during three legislative sessions; he met |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Caroline Morgan, a native of Ireland who was raised in Australia, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | when she visited Austin in 2009 for Christmas; the couple fell |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | deeply in love over the course of a long-distance relationship, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and they were married in 2012 in New York City; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Their beautiful baby girl was born on |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | February 13, 2017, at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Australia; she arrived at 11:05 a.m. and weighed seven pounds and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | three ounces; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Penelope's safe arrival fulfilled her parents' |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | dearest wish, and they are joyful over the birth of their |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | daughter; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This blessed event has brought great happiness to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Penelope's family, and she has been heartily welcomed into the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Morgan-Maher household; it is indeed appropriate that the Texas |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Senate welcome this precious newborn into the world; now, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Caroline Morgan |

| 25 | 25 | | and Marshall Maher on the birth of their daughter Penelope Zara |
