SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 411 In Memory of Donald Blair Lang Jr. WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Donald Blair Lang Jr., who died August 17, 2016, at the age of 39; and WHEREAS, Blair Lang was born January 28, 1977, in Houston, to Donald Blair Lang and Lisa Smith Williamson; he was a graduate of Texas Tech University; and WHEREAS, He began his professional career in the banking industry at Plains Capital Bank before entering the field of commercial real estate with Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, where he enjoyed great success and the respect of his colleagues and clients; and WHEREAS, He and his beloved wife, Katherine Biggs Lang, enjoyed 10 years of marriage together; they were blessed with two daughters, Bea and Stella, who were a source of much pride and joy for him; and WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced his faith in his daily life, Mr. Lang served his church in the children's ministry alongside Katherine; and WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, Mr. Lang took great pleasure in the company of his friends and family, and his generous spirit and enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who were privileged to share in his life; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and he leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by his family and countless friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Donald Blair Lang Jr.; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Donald Blair Lang Jr. Estes ________________________________ President of the Senate I hereby certify that the above Resolution was adopted by the Senate on March 13, 2017, by a rising vote. ________________________________ Secretary of the Senate ________________________________ Member, Texas Senate
