| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Donald Blair Lang Jr., who died |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | August 17, 2016, at the age of 39; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Blair Lang was born January 28, 1977, in Houston, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to Donald Blair Lang and Lisa Smith Williamson; he was a graduate |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | of Texas Tech University; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, He began his professional career in the banking |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | industry at Plains Capital Bank before entering the field of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | commercial real estate with Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, where he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | enjoyed great success and the respect of his colleagues and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | clients; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, He and his beloved wife, Katherine Biggs Lang, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | enjoyed 10 years of marriage together; they were blessed with two |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | daughters, Bea and Stella, who were a source of much pride and joy |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | for him; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced his faith in his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | daily life, Mr. Lang served his church in the children's ministry |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | alongside Katherine; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Mr. Lang took great pleasure in the company of his friends and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | family, and his generous spirit and enthusiasm for living each |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who were |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | privileged to share in his life; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and he leaves |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | behind memories that will be cherished forever by his family and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | countless friends; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | family of Donald Blair Lang Jr.; and, be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 35 | 35 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
