| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Lieutenant Fidel Jasso, who is retiring after 35 years |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | of outstanding service with the Hidalgo County Sheriff's |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Office; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Lieutenant Jasso joined the Hidalgo County |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Sheriff's Office in October of 1981; over the course of his law |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | enforcement career with the county, he has served with |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | distinction in a variety of divisions, including patrol, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | criminal investigations, communications, the training academy, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | civil, and warrants; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he has handled the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | unique challenges of law enforcement duty with courage and a deep |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | commitment to public service and the safety of his community; he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | was instrumental in the creation of the Hidalgo County Crime |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Stoppers program and in obtaining vital federal funding for the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | addition of 49 deputy sheriff positions; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Pan American University, he has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | received exceptional support, encouragement, and love from his |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | wife, Ester Herrera, and his children, Laura and Joshua; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary peace officer, he is respected and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | admired by his colleagues and the public alike, and his presence |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | at the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office will be greatly missed; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend Lieutenant Fidel Jasso on his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | exceptional service to the people of Hidalgo County and extend to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | be it further |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
