| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of |

| 6 | 6 | | Yolanda JoAn Davis of Plano, who passed away on February 10, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2017, at the age of 71; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Rudy and Wilma Duffie Mallonee, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the former JoAn Mallonee was born on March 7, 1945, in Yuba City, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | California; she moved to Alaska with her family six years later |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and attended West Anchorage High School, where she received her |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | diploma in June 1963; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, That same month, she exchanged the vows of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | matrimony with Larry Davis at a ceremony in Anchorage; during the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | course of a rewarding marriage that spanned more than half a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | century, they became the proud parents of three sons, Larry, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Collin, and Jared, and two daughters, Christie and Holly, and as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the years passed, the couple had the pleasure of seeing their |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | family grow to include 27 grandchildren and a great-grandson, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | with whom they enjoyed spending many special occasions; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Sustained from a young age by a profound faith, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Mrs. Davis was a valued congregant of Bull Creek Cowboy Church in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Lone Oak, Texas; her life was further enriched by her artistic |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | endeavors and her involvement with the Greenville Art League; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, JoAn Davis touched countless lives with her quiet |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and caring spirit, and although she will be deeply missed, her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | family and friends may take comfort in the knowledge that she is |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | in the presence of her savior; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Yolanda JoAn Davis |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | and extend sincere condolences to her family and many friends; |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and, be it further |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
