| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Martha Haydon, who is retiring as the principal |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | accompanist of the Brenham Children's Chorus; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Brenham Children's Chorus was established in |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | 2002; since its founding, the community-based program has |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | brought a wealth of opportunities to children who have the desire |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | to learn more about music and to share their talents with |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | audiences across the nation; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Martha Haydon has played piano and been a part of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the music staff at Brenham's First Baptist Church for 40 years; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | she also serves her church as the handbell choir director, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | she has taught at several private schools; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Due to Martha's impressive talents and musical |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | expertise, she has played an integral role in the success of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Brenham Children's Chorus; she has generously given her time and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | energy to the members of the chorus, and she has helped instill in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | them a sense of pride in their many accomplishments; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Brenham Children's Chorus and the Brenham |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | community have greatly benefited from the work of this talented |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | accompanist, and her presence with the chorus will be greatly |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Martha Haydon for her many |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | contributions to the Brenham Children's Chorus and extend to her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | best wishes in all her future endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
