| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Larry Gene Pullin for his many achievements and for his |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | visionary work on behalf of the veterans of Brown County; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Larry Pullin served with distinction in the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | United States Army during the Vietnam War; he is a highly |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | decorated veteran and a two-time Purple Heart recipient; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, After retiring as a staff sergeant in 1975, Larry |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | earned a bachelor of science degree from Tarleton State |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | University; he moved to Brownwood to open his own business, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | he has since remained a resident of Brown County; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In the years following his military retirement, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Larry has been active in veterans' affairs, and he continues to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | serve as a tireless proponent of veterans' rights; recently, he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | has been advocating for the implementation of a Veterans |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Treatment Court in Brown County, an endeavor that would expand |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | specialized services to veterans who often do not seek out the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | help they need when they return home from combat service; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In response to the dedicated efforts of Larry |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Pullin and other community advocates working on behalf of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | veterans, the Brown County Commissioners Court is beginning the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | process of laying the groundwork for establishing a Veterans |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Treatment Court in Brown County; Mr. Pullin played an integral |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | role in this outstanding development, and he is indeed deserving |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | of recognition for his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Larry Gene Pullin for his many |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | contributions to his community and for his exceptional work on |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | behalf of his fellow veterans and extend to him best wishes in all |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | his future endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
