SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 47
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Cheryl Benson for her outstanding work as Founders' Day
chair for the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, The Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority was established on June 6, 1929; through programs
of service, the chapter has long worked to encourage young women
to develop high standards of character and to strive for
excellence in educational achievement; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl Benson is a loyal Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority member who has served as a mentor and role model to
countless sisters, and she has played an integral role in
numerous Alpha Xi Omega Chapter programs and events; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl Benson is truly deserving of recognition
for helping the chapter to fulfill its mission of service and for
her exemplary leadership as the Founders' Day chair; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Cheryl Benson on her many
contributions to the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority and extend to her best wishes in all her future
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
